TechAbility
TechAbility is a Research and Innovation project funded by the government of British Columbia and managed by ASTTBC. It is designed to assess innovative and collaborative approaches for connecting career-oriented job seekers with disabilities/diverse abilities to technical occupations in BC.
What was the goal?
The project graduated 43 research participants who took part in a one week career exploration training (program) followed by job shadowing and mentorship opportunities used to develop a framework and matrix of 20 different technical occupations ideal for people with diverse abilities.
The Framework/Matrix and other resources identified through the project are now available to support the employment integration of people with diverse abilities in technical occupations.
