Technology Awards & Recognition Celebration
ASTTBC Technology Awards Gala a Tradition of Success
ASTTBC’s 27th Technology Awards & Recognition Celebration was held at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel on November 14th 2015. The annual gala is ASTTBC’s opportunity to recognize BC’s Technology Professionals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements, and to say thank you to our many volunteers and partners who have contributed to the growth and development of the Association.
ASTTBC was honoured to have the Minister of Advanced Education and Minister Responsible for the ASTT Act, The Honourable Andrew Wilkinson, MLA from Vancouver–Quilchena, speak at the event. “The Minister spoke of the important role Technology Professionals play in their own communities and in building the BC economy,” said ASTTBC CEO John Leech, AScT, CAE. “It was a pleasure having him with us for the evening.”
Other MLAs in attendance were George Heyman, MLA from Vancouver–Fairview; Richard Lee, MLA from Burnaby North and Deputy Speaker; Dr. Darryl Plecas, MLA from Abbotsford South; Shane Simpson, MLA from Vancouver–Hastings; and ASTTBC Honorary Member Ralph Sultan, MLA from West Vancouver–Capilano.
The event was very well attended and featured entertainment by Andrew Johns (back by popular demand), a delicious dinner, award presentations, the ASTTBC Foundation 25th Anniversary Silent Auction, and many, many good friends.
“Always building for the future” – Message from BC Premier Christy Clark
The ASTTBC Technology Awards gala opened with a video greeting from BC Premier Christy Clark.
