Inclusion & Diversity: Making it Happen in Engineering and Technology
For the past two years ASTTBC has led the Advancing Women in Engineering and Technology (AWET) project, a Sector Labour Market Partnership project funded through the Canada-BC Workforce Development Agreement. The project’s goal was to determine how we can increase the participation of women in the engineering, geoscience, technology and technician occupations through the implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies to recruit, retain and support career development of women.
A jurisdictional scan has been undertaken over the last year with the intent to:
- Explore the factors that contribute to a successful diversity and inclusion initiatives,
- Identify what are the major barriers and
- Review what insights a GBA+ lens brings to the understanding of diversity and inclusion for equity seeking groups in the sector.
The jurisdictional scan report will be available on the project’s website in fall 2021. Below is the project’s snapshot captured in an infographic. Feel free to view and download below infographic as PDF file.
