Binnie Reaches 50 Year Milestone
Over the past 50 years, Binnie has grown from a small operation to a nearly 300-person company. From manual surveying and typewriters, to smartphones and 3D scanning—Binnie has seen a lot of changes. What has stayed true throughout our fifty-year history is our focus on our people. Since the early 1980s, we have understood the value that technologists bring to the table.
Binnie provides an environment where technologists and technicians can thrive in the workplace. We recognize the importance of diversity, provide opportunities for growth, and encourage all employees to strive for any position in the company. Our Board of Directors is made up of fifty percent technologists – against the industry trend. This operational model is one of our strengths and will continue to carry us forward for our next fifty years.

One thing that strikes me as remarkable about technologists and members of ASTTBC is how much they contribute to the Province of BC. They are active in the community, drivers of business, entrepreneurs, and even visionaries. Everywhere in our society they are involved as leaders in areas of technology, medical services, heavy construction, environmental services, marine and ports, mining, law enforcement, education, and many others. ASTTBC provides a vehicle and support system to give these people legitimacy and recognition.
