NEGM Engineering and Geoscience Children’s Drawing Contest

It’s National Engineering and Geoscience Month (NEGM) – an annual celebration of engineering and geoscience across Canada. The month-long event promotes awareness of the engineering, geoscience and technology professions, highlights career choices in these fields, and reminds the public of the many ways in which engineering and geoscience touch everyday life.

ASTTBC technologists, technicians and technical specialists are a vital part of BC’s engineering teams. This month, we join our engineering partners to showcase the application of engineering technology and its contribution to BC’s economy.

Children’s Drawing Contest

Engineering, geoscience and applied science technology improve the world we live in and keep communities safe. Transportation, hospitals, electricity, cell phones, food quality and many other things rely on science, technology, engineering and math to maintain our way of life.

Ask children to use their imagination to think about jobs that engineers, geoscientists or applied science technologists do and how they make our world a better place. Draw a picture and submit it by March 31, 2019 for your chance to win a prize!

The contest will be open to the public, parents, teachers and anyone working with children to get them involved with engaging in the exploration of science.
