Intentions Paper for the Professional Governance Act
Bill 49 (Professional Governance Act) was introduced by the BC NDP government on October 22, 2018, and on November 27 it received Royal Assent. This new legislation is designed to increase capacity, transparency, confidence, and consistency in the professional reliance model for the five professional associations (Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC, Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals, BC Institute of Agrologists, College of Applied Biology of BC and Engineers Geologists BC) as outlined in the final Professional Reliance Review report to Government released on June 28. 2018.
