TPC Calls on Gov’t for Independent Rights to Practice

In late June, ASTTBC along with Professional Technology Associations from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario called on provincial governments  to recognize and regulate the scope of engineering work undertaken by technology professionals; and define and ultimately authorize the practice of the profession in legislation, by means of an exemption to the scopes of practice of the professional engineer, under Technology Professionals Canada.

Established in 2010, Technology Professionals Canada (TPC) is an alliance of technology professional associations from four provinces which together represent over 85 per cent of the engineering technology and applied science profession.
