The search for a new CEO at ASTTBC is underway!

It is an inspired time at ASTTBC. After a tenure of solid leadership, the
organization is seeking an energetic, visionary and collaborative new Chief
Executive Officer. The new CEO will be tasked with building a member
service-oriented organization that certifies professionals within its field
of responsibility, participates in the process of accreditation of programs
offered by the public and private post-secondary system, and assists in
the establishment of national standards under which these programs are
accredited and individuals certified. In so doing, ASTTBC protects the public
interest and establishes and maintains beneficial relationships with members,
registrants, industry, government and other stakeholders.
As an effective spokesperson and a key liaison with government, the media
and public, the CEO will work closely with Council to help define a clear,
confident direction in the province and take a prominent leadership role for the
evolvement of professionals within the various technical sectors represented
by ASTTBC. Furthermore, the CEO will ensure efficient operations, proper
regulation, continued growth and risk management of the organization.
The CEO will seamlessly integrate best practices from both the business and
not-for-profit sectors. With an entrepreneurial spirit, the CEO will promote
the virtues of ASTTBC within British Columbia, Canada and globally. The
ideal candidate is a confident and multi-faceted executive with a minimum
of 10 years’ experience, leading a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
You bring outstanding strategic thinking, board governance best practices,
communications, government and media relations, networking, marketing
and execution skills. This position also requires genuine collaboration, keen
diplomacy and the proven ability to connect across a large and diverse
membership base. Experience in a regulated industry and familiarity working
with a volunteer board would be beneficial.
