Federal Employment & Workforce Minister Talks Tech with ASTTBC

The Hon. Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, spoke with ASTTBC CEO John Leech about the Association’s initiatives to assist foreign qualified technology professionals to secure credential recognition, professional certification and access to rewarding careers. ASTTBC’s work to launch a Public Works Technology program with Westbank First Nation in the Okanagan was the second connection with the Minister, who holds responsibility for skills development with Indigenous Peoples. The Minister was in Vancouver to launch a new Work Integrated Learning (WIL) project to be administered by the Information and Communications Technology Council, represented at the launch by President and CEO Namir Anani. SAP Labs Canada VP and Managing Director, Kirsten Sutton hosted the event at their BC headquarters.
