Canada 150 Photo Contest Winner: Jack Nellist, AScT

The ASTTBC 2017 Photo Contest theme: 150 Years of Canadian Technology! A LOOK AT THE PAST – A LOOK TO THE FUTURE  came through with nearly 100 entries and some fabulous photos.

Congratulations to the Grand Prize Winner, Jack (John) Nellist, AScT who submitted this amazing photo from 1941, when Boeing Aircraft of Canada build a new plant on Sea Island for the production of the Consolidated Catalina amphibian flying boat.  Boeing had received a contract from Consolidated Aircraft Co. of San Diego, designers of the plane, to build the plane in Canada.  When full production was attained, over 7000 people were employed.
