THE ANNUAL ASTTBC Technology Awards & Recognition Celebration is a highlight for BC's science and technology community. This gala event provides the opportunity for ASTTBC to thank our dedicated volunteers and to recognize BC leaders who have contributed to the growth and development of technology, applied science technology education and careers.
November 3rd 2012 was another grand event for ASTTBC... we thank all who attended to ‘Help Us Celebrate’! Our evening started with a reception and Silent Auction fundraiser for the ASTTBC Foundation, followed by entertainment, dinner, award presentations and socializing.
We profiled National Technology Week, which is dedicated to enhancing awareness of technology careers for Applied Science Technologists, Certified Technicians and Technical Specialists.
ASTTBC also showcased a new music video... Everyday Science by The Kerplunks ...to engage youth in math and science. We encourage you to click here to watch the video... it's a fun look at everyday science!
Numerous awards were presented at this event... a special Certificate of Appreciation, Honorary Membership, Professional Achievement, Advanced Technology, Professional Leadership for Women in Technology, Employer Award for Career Enhancement and Success of Technology Professionals, and TechGREEN. The latter program was established by ASTTBC to recognize members, businesses and organizations who are taking a lead role in environmental initiatives.
The ASTTBC Foundation presented bursaries to deserving recipients, to support these individuals in their pursuit of a career in applied science and engineering technologies. The Foundation also benefitted from the generosity of guests and members attending the event... over $10,000 was raised through the Silent Auction and Wine Cellar Raffle!
For all of ASTTBC's goals and achievements, one thing is certain... it's our members, dedicated volunteers and committed partners who are at the very heart of our success!
