Student Application

Are you currently enrolled in a diploma of technology program in BC? Or, have you graduated from an accredited program within the last six months? If you don't already have a membership, you should!

Student memberships are FREE but are only available to students who meets the following criteria:

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of BC,
  • Currently registered and attending a full-time, CTAB or ASTTBC accredited technician or technology program at a technical college or institute in British Columbia.

If you are NOT currently attending a nationally accredited program, then you are still eligible for registration provided you are in a related discipline. However, your initial membership classification will be Student. Upon graduation, you will be reclassified as an Associate Member of ASTTBC.

For a list of accredited programs, click here. Student memberships are valid for the duration of your program, typically 1 or 2 years depending on your program and automatically reclassify to Graduate Technologist status (GradTech) upon graduation.

Along with membership to ASTTBC as a Student Technologist or Student Technician, you'll be kept up to date on association activity, initiatives, and events as well as access to the Canadian Technical Employment Network (CTEN), our online employment search engine and exclusive recruitment website for members only.

To process your application, please fill out the following fields entirely and press the 'Submit Application' button at the end. Your student membership application will then be forwarded to the Registrations Department. You will be notified once your application has been accepted.
